What is reading engagement and how does it contribute to literacy development?
Recall the four factors that contribute to reading engagement; then, consider your classroom routines and practices and your children’s engagement in reading. Do your routines and practices align with the evidence on engaged reading? If so, describe your routines and practices and relate them to the evidence presented in the lecture and article. If not, describe at least two ways you will modify your instructional practices so that they are more aligned with the evidence related to engaged reading. Be sure to draw from the evidence in the lectures and readings as you explain your reasoning.
